GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

The intern will focus on building a database of deduction practices by specific deduction type and customer specific details. The intern will also learn how to utilize Microsoft Power BI and QuickBase to aid the department with reporting extraction and development of additional reports to aid in reporting and providing customer specific data. The intern will work in conjunction with the Credit & Collections team and Sales Allowances team.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION

  • Develop workflow procedures for individual deduction types and subsequent adjustment procedures
  • Develop new templates and workflow procedures for major customers' deduction processes
  • Aid with development of reporting packages/models
  • Analyze major customers' deduction behaviors
  • Assist with research, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
  • Create and deliver a final presentation to the executive team of Dole Fresh Vegetables
  • Assist with Credit Manager on new customer credit screening
  • Other duties as assigned


INTERNSHIP DETAILS

  • Summer 2025, 12-week internship
  • 100% onsite (not a remote internship)
  • Pay Rate: $20 - $22 per hour
  • No relocation or housing assistance provided

Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy
  • Knowledge of Power BI and/or QuickBase is preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
  • The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs.


WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Full time, 40-hour workweek, no overtime expected
  • 12-week internship
  • No travel expected

Required Experience
EDUCATION LEVEL AND FIELDS OF STUDY

  • Fall 2025 rising junior or senior obtaining a bachelor's degree, or concentration in, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Agricultural Business or a related field
