Function:

Distribution Job Summary:As a Shipping Supervisor at CF Industries, your key responsibilities include ensuring safety, training, and supervising technicians who handle loading and shipping operations. You'll oversee the loading of barges, trucks, railcars, and pipeline transfers. The role follows a 9/80 work schedule. Job Description:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safety and Compliance: Implement safety procedures, identify hazards, and promote a safety-focused environment. Ensure compliance with OSHA 1910 requirements for Process Safety Management.
  • Supervision: Manage a team of Team Leaders and Shipping Technicians, including scheduling and personnel assignments.
  • Railcar Operations: Oversee inbound hopper bottom railcars, coordinate repairs, and manage inspection processes.
  • Loading Activities: Plan, monitor, and report loading activities for trucks, railcars, and barges.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, operate, and maintain loading equipment, including conveyor belts, pipelines, valves, and more.
  • Security Officer Duties: Assume the role of Port Facility Security Officer (FSO) and maintain compliance with Coast Guard regulations.
  • Communication: Regularly communicate with management, peers, and vendors

SUCCESSFUL INCUMBENTS WILL HAVE:

  • Supervisory Experience: Demonstrated leadership in an industrial, shipping, or logistics setting.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in document management using Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Familiarity with truck and rail product loading, including DOT regulations and Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Communication and Attention to Detail:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Attention to detail with a project management mindset.
    • Ability to present information succinctly to management.
    • Critical thinking and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility and Travel:
    • Willingness to travel up to 5% for training and occasional call-out work.
    • Ability to work remotely by phone or VPN.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of shipping or operations experience.
    • A degree (BS, BA, or AA) is desirable

POSITION SCOPE/CONTRIBUTION:

The Shipping Supervisor is vital to the success of the department, site, and organization. The role's primary functions are to ensure the safe, efficient, and quality loading of products at both the plant and port facilities; to supervise, schedule, train, and support the team of Shipping Technicians; to perform the duties of the Port FSO; and to support and advise management as required.
