About this Position:

In this position you will:



  • Manage and continuously improve mass production supplier quality through technical analysis, problem solving, and communication skills to meet manufacturing and customer expectations.
  • Be responsible for identifying quality issues, establishing containment, developing, and implementing countermeasure to ensure acceptable quality in products and parts.
  • Develop expertise of supplier parts and processes to support analysis of quality related issues and associated reporting.
  • Utilize expertise to effectively manage and communicate quality related issues as needed.
  • Utilize Honda Systems to hold suppliers accountable for nonconforming parts, and ensure compliance with government regulations and part specifications.
  • Lead or support collaborative problem solving and countermeasure activity to identify root cause and prevent problem recurrence.
  • Use technical expertise to conduct non-conforming product evaluation and follow containment or rework procedures to minimize impact to plant operations.
  • Review daily reports and go to the spot (inside and outside our organization) to understand and react to current quality conditions.
  • Engage in department initiatives to develop associates and strengthen Honda operations.
  • Continue to develop and share technical expertise for succession planning, team, and associate growth.



Responsibilities include:



  • Analyze parts to the drawing and specifications to assure conformance.
  • Assure problem containment of parts and completed body units.
  • Authority to remove parts from CBU for investigation.
  • Responsible for reviewing the previous shifts reports, and completing full investigation.
  • Contact supplier to report issues and requests corrective action.
  • Work with sorting contractors and suppliers to provide direction concerning quality issues.
  • Daily confirmation of sort effectiveness of current quality concerns.
  • Effectively generate interest in new ideas within the team.


Minimum Educational Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering field or 6yrs of equivalent experience.



Minimum Experience:



  • At least 1 term as a co-op for Honda or in a similar manufacturing environment.



Other job-specific skills:



  • Quality assurance.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Part measurement.
  • Catia/3D.
  • MS office proficient.
  • Negotiation and communication skills.



Additional Position Factors:



  • Open Office Environment.
  • Walking and sorting parts.
  • Limited travel.
  • Overtime possible. (Approximately 4 hours of overtime per week)
