Bilingual Assistant Program Director

The Assistant Program Director is responsible for assisting in the operational, managerial, and administrative duties relating to the program. The Assistant Program Director must maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working hours other than regular work schedule and evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Assist with collection, maintenance and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the appropriate personnel at Southwest Key Programs' national headquarters and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
  • Assist with overall supervision and management of program personnel including recruitment, hiring, training, and terminating.
  • Review monthly financials, with the Program Director, to ensure compliance with operations/contract requirements. Adhere to negotiated annual budget and spending requirements.
  • Monitor the program facility and vehicle maintenance, inventory control and bulk purchases. Maintain a safe, clean and hazard-free environment.
  • Assist with facilitating the established training guidelines and curriculum for employee training.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with organization, licensing, and funding source for all program departments.
  • Assume the duties and responsibilities of the Program Director in his/her absence or as requested.
  • Attend all organizational required trainings.
  • Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to.
  • Must assist in the evacuation of youth as needed due to inclement weather conditions, natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences.
  • Travel as needed for trainings, conferences or to transport youth to destinations located within the U.S.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and hazard-free work area.
  • Develop and maintain productive relations with local, state and federal stakeholders.
  • Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.


These requirements may be waived with written approval from the ORR Project Officer



  • A combination of one of the following:

    • Bachelor's degree in a social service or related field, with a minimum of three years direct childcare experience and two years of supervisory experience in a residential environment.
    • Master's degree in social services or related field, with one-year supervisory experience working with troubled youth.


  • Must possess a valid state driver's license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required by contractual agreement.
  • Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program services.
  • Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
  • Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
  • Bilingual (English & any second language)
  • Cleared drug test results (this one is for Texas programs only).
  • Flexibility and willingness to work irregular and long hours including evenings and weekends as the position requires on call rotation with Program Director.
  • Maintain annual training requirements/licensure/certifications.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
