Posting Summary
The School of Criminal Justice, Rutgers University invites applications for in-person and on-line Lecturer teaching positions in the undergraduate and graduate program during the Summer 2025 Semester. Undergraduate courses will run in Sessions. Session 1 runs from 05/27/2025 - 07/03/2025 and Session 2 runs from 07/7/2025 - 08/13/2024. Please specify which courses and session (s) you are applying to in your cover letter. Graduate courses typically run for 12 weeks from 5/27/25 - 8/13/25.
Successful applicants will develop and instruct undergraduate courses on a variety of topics including, but not limited to the following: Criminal Justice, Cybercrime, and Policing. Please specify which course (s) you would be interested in teaching in your cover letter.
Instructors shall report to the Dean of the School of Criminal Justice, attend an orientation, prepare and submit course syllabi, meet and provide pedagogically appropriate instruction during assigned class times, provide timely student feedback, respond to student emails, and adhere to grade submission policies and deadlines. In classes that have a research focus, instructors shall follow appropriate Institutional Review Board policies and procedures to ensure the protection of human subjects.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Masters or Juris Doctorate Required.
Doctorate Preferred.
Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level.
Applicants with comparable degrees from accredited institutions may also be considered. Prior teaching experience is also preferred.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
