Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Missile Tracking and Defense System Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on developing and enhancing a cutting-edge system designed to track and intercept hypersonic missiles. The engineer will work with advanced technologies and deep algorithms to design, implement, and improve the missile tracking and defense system using
Python and
CAMEO. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate directly with space vehicle vendors and work alongside the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), with a primary focus on developing solutions to protect against and neutralize hypersonic threats.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tracking System Development: Design and develop advanced systems capable of tracking the location and trajectory of hypersonic missiles in real time.
- Algorithm Design: Utilize deep algorithms and cutting-edge technology to improve tracking accuracy and ensure missile interception capabilities. Experience with algorithm development is highly desired.
- Collaboration with Space Vehicle Vendors: Work directly with space vehicle vendors to integrate tracking solutions into their systems and coordinate with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) for system validation and performance.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Leverage MBSE principles to design, simulate, and evaluate missile defense systems, ensuring all components work together efficiently and accurately.
- Software Development: Use Python for developing algorithms, data processing, and software solutions integral to the missile tracking and defense system. Work with CAMEO for systems engineering and modeling tasks.
- Collaboration with SyTech and GD: Work with SyTech's advanced algorithms and General Dynamics to ensure the integration of best-in-class technologies into the tracking system.
- System Optimization and Testing: Continuously test and optimize the missile tracking and defense system to ensure performance under various operational conditions.
- Secure Data Management: Ensure all development activities are compliant with security protocols and data management policies, with the ability to work in a secure facility (Skiff) when needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in developing algorithms and tracking systems for missile defense, aerospace, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in Python and CAMEO (or similar systems engineering tools).
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and its application in defense technologies.
- Familiarity with hypersonic missile technologies and the missile defense domain, including real-time tracking and interception solutions.
- Ability to collaborate with external vendors and agencies, particularly in the space and defense sectors.
- Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) clearance.
- Ability to work in a secure office environment and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong background in algorithm development.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a distributed team, including remote work options where applicable.
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or similar defense agencies.
- Familiarity with SyTech deep algorithms and integration into defense systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in systems engineering.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- Agile experience.
- Satellite communications knowledge.
- Ground to Satellite communication knowledge.
- Ground operations experience.
- STK/Python, CAMEO, or MATLAB analyst focus.
- SE with MBSE experience and tracking knowledge.
- SE with core skills space, tracking, MATLAB or python skills, and some software ideal for backfill.
- SMART OA SE - knowledge of IRPL, modeling tracking payload, aerospace experience.
- Strong SW, cloud, modeling, and sim background with space knowledge.
- Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the systems development life cycle.
- Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success.
- Thorough knowledge of technology trends and willingness to champion new ideas and process improvements.
- Good presentation and communications skills with experience in negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions.
