SUMMARY:

The Radiology Technologist performs radiographic imaging studies for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Prepares examination room to comply with safety and hygiene standards.

Performs patient tracking from the beginning of each procedure to the completion of exam.

Properly identifies patients by utilization of 2 patient identifiers and performs the AIDET communication tool for all patient

encounters.

Assist with scheduling of patients to ensure productive workflow.

Processes and transfers images utilizing Picture Archiving and Communication System and reconciles daily to correct any exams on the exceptions list.

Evaluates images for technical quality and ensures that demographic information, including medical record number and accession numbers are accurate.

Technologist must mark all images with Lead Markers to designate R or L as well as three (3) initials on Lead Markers.

Maintains all digital and computerized radiographic equipment within manufacture standard by performing QC and calibrations when needed.

Cleans and inspects radiographic rooms and equipment after each use. Notifies the supervisor of needed equipment repairs immediately.

Responsible for stocking procedure and exam rooms at the end of each shift. Assist in training Radiology staff and students.

Practices radiation protection techniques using beam restrictive devices, patients shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patients and staff.

And duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Must be a graduate of JRCERT approved Radiography program.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be registered within six (6) months of hire by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
