Onsite - Torrance, CA Moog Aircraft Groupis the world-wide leader of advanced flight controls and actuation for commercial and military aircraft.We are positioned on virtually every aircraft flying today, supplying highly reliable systems that are supportable and add significant value for our customers. The core mission of the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) organization is to assure that supplied parts/services meet Moog quality requirements. The Engineer performs SQE tasks of moderate scope and complexity. This person's role involves application of the language and basic principles of SQE. Key tasks include participating in initiatives that support internal Moog global customer and external supplier needs, improve Moog product and delivered quality, using an analytical approach to solve supply chain adversity. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will:
  • Primary activities will be to evaluate supplier performance and take actions to improve quality associated with supplied products while working collaboratively with other functions in the achievement of overall SQE responsibilities.
  • Independently manages NCs/CAs for assigned suppliers, including 8D management for supplier caused NOEs to Moog customers.
  • Independently manages ASL for assigned commodities/suppliers, performing periodic assessments and on-site audits as needed.
  • Ensures via effective communication and/or training and oversight that Moog requirements flowed to assigned suppliers are clearly articulated, understood and complied with.
  • Supports supplier evaluation, selection, recovery and performance improvement efforts as directed by the Moog site or Supply Chain commodities.
  • Performs source inspection/verification tasks when required.
  • Option to work a 9 80 work schedule
To be considered for theSupplier Quality Engineer role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Specialist technical experience, qualifications, training and skills may be required depending on the exact job context: For example, metallurgy, industrial chemistry, processing knowledge, metrology, GD&T, machining, electrical components.
  • Source Inspectors and SQEs should have experience with measurement equipment such as surface plates, height gages, micro height, gage blocks, CMM equipment etc.
  • Proven experience with gage R&R studies, gage correlation and MSA is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with formal problem solving and quality improvement tool and techniques such as 5-why, Ishikawa, RCCA, 8D, DMAIC etc).
  • AS9100 lead auditor training / certification is advantageous.
  • Must be able to travel domestic and internationally.

Salary Range Transparency:

Torrance, CA $80,000.00-$125,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
