Position Summary:

We are a healthcare data products and analytics company transforming how the industry understands and consumes healthcare data. We are seeking a Sr. Healthcare Data Products Analyst to join our team.

This fully remote position focuses on healthcare data profiling and analysis tasks that require strong quantitative reasoning skills, expertise in tools and technologies for data analysis, and an interest in the US healthcare industry. Occasional travel may be required.

The primary responsibilities include collaborating with the research operations and analytics teams to develop and maintain healthcare data products and analytical tools. We value collaboration combined with a high degree of autonomy, and we balance quality with speed in everything we do.

Position Responsibilities



  • Execute appropriate analytics methods based on research questions, project goals, and available resources.
  • Assist in developing comprehensive documentation for datasets and technical topics.
  • Ensure consistent follow-through and exceptional attention to detail on all project tasks.
  • Collaborate independently and within cross-functional teams, from planning through delivery stages.
  • Leverage a variety of data analysis tools and technologies suited to specific tasks or projects.
  • Work effectively with teams across the US and in India.


Example projects:



  • Automate a manual, multi-step analytics pipeline to improve efficiency.
  • Analyze healthcare claims to identify the volume and average cost of specific procedures performed by targeted providers or facilities.
  • Develop in-depth profiles and field-level documentation for complex datasets.
  • Build a national dataset of providers, linking group affiliations, quality scores, and patient volume reports.
  • Create a crosswalk of physician group TINs to physician NPIs using multiple data sources.
  • Convert custom, project-specific code and workflows into standardized, repeatable processes.



Requirements:

We are looking for team players with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong aptitude for working with large data sets. Familiarity with healthcare datasets, particularly claims, is highly desirable. While candidates are not expected to possess all the skills listed below, we are looking for individuals with background, experience or professional interest in several of these areas:

Education/experience:



  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience; a Master's degree or higher in a related field is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in a research-driven field such as economics, social science, mathematics, public policy, or healthcare administration, with exposure to the US healthcare system preferred.
  • Strong preference for education and experience with quantitative analysis, statistics, and/or data science.


Skills:



  • Ability to execute complex research and analysis projects and tasks.
  • Proficiency in translating conceptual instructions into discrete analytical tasks.
  • Familiarity with specific healthcare data sets (e.g. Care Compare, NPPES, Medicare cost reports/ HCRIS, or others) is a plus
  • Exposure to one or more data analysis platforms or coding languages (e.g. Python, R, SAS) is a plus.
  • Experience working with cloud computing and/ or relational database technologies (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Databricks) is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, agile, and innovative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communications skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to adhere to established procedures.
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: Azure DevOps, Git/ Gitlab, cloud environments like S3 or Azure, software development, healthcare policy, academic research



Compensation and Location:



  • The salary range is $73,000-$144,000, depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This role can be located remotely within the US.
