Job Description

Do you have experience as a Document Control or a Records Management Specialistwith demonstrated experience supporting DoD requirements? Do you currently holdan active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility? We have a great job waiting for you at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC and the Pentagon supporting the Department of the Navy Special Access Programs Central Office (DONSAPCO) -Records Management Specialist(mid-level)!

As aRecords Management Specialist(mid-level),you will:



  • Be a valued team member for a highly important document inventory, control, and accountability project that, upon successful completion, will enable the customer office to achieve strategic goals associated with special access program (SAP) security compliance and records management policy implementation.
  • Provide support and training to staff members concerning document control and records management functions and procedures.
  • Conduct inventories of facility containers, identify documents for retention and destruction, coordinate with Records Manager, develop reports, and make recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Develop, submit for approval, and maintain Records Management (RM) policy and procedures.
  • Assist with the management of approximately 500,000 files across four systems (networks) and approximately 70 safes of physical files.

A week in a life of aRecords Management Specialist(mid-level):



  • Handle documents in-accordance with all applicable information security and records management policies.
  • Maintain control and accountability of all classified material in the government security approved document control system.
  • Prepare material designated for destruction and ensure destruction is documented in the government security document control system in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Scan and upload physical documents onto approved Information Systems in accordance with records management and data transfer policies and procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate security safeguards for all records, information, data, and documentary materials and equipment.
  • Execute reorganization of documents, files, and records in accordance with government approved file structure plan, on multiple Government systems.
  • Maintain unclassified and classified websites for organizing & sharing information; maintain SharePoint lists, libraries, flows, and forms.
  • Provide secure web services and document management services with a DoD approved Electronic Records Management Application.
  • Assist the Records Manager with coordination with DON Assistant for Administration Directives and Records Management Division for National Archives and Records Administration.
  • Assist the Records Manager with the execution, tracking, and updating of Records Management training, documentation, and job aids for office staff.

Job Requirements

  • 3 -5 years of relevant document control or records management experience with a bachelor's degree
  • Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility is a must.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Possess an analytical mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at briefing executives andprogram leadership.
  • High Proficiency with MS Office applications

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary/hourly range for this position is $80,000- $100,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
