Student Affairs at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Student Case Manager in the department of Student Counseling & Psychological Services! The Student Case Manager will provide case management, crisis intervention, triage, outreach, consultation, and administrative services to students who are in need of intensive outpatient and inpatient mental health services.

Essential Functions |
- This position is responsible for maintaining and monitoring a clinical case management system to provide care for Student Counseling & Psychological Services clients and other at-risk students and serves as the primary resource for student issues related to crisis intervention and coordination with other AU departments.
- Contribute to the management and coordination of the Student Counseling & Psychological Services (SCPS) clinical case management system (e.g., client wait list), including follow-up to ensure that clients are appropriately assessed, successfully referred, and compliant with treatment recommendations.
- Collaborate with SCPS staff, community providers and other campus constituencies in the planning, implementation, and coordination of care of SCPS clients and high-risk students.
- Assist students with mental health services coordination and needs including, but not limited to, referral to community resources and facilitate access to medical and/or psychiatric care. This includes coordination and facilitation of hospitalizations and mental health treatment through and post discharge as well as maintenance of a hospitalizations database.
- Maintenance and expansion of a database of referral resources and community services.
- Initiate and maintain ongoing liaison relationships with community health providers, services, hospitals, and other resources.
- Provide daytime on-call triage and crisis services.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications |
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or a related field (e.g., Psychology, Education)
Level I - Master's degree
Level II - Master's degree plus 2 years of experience in providing counseling and psychological services that has been supervised by licensed mental health professionals.
Level III - Master's degree plus 4 years of experience in providing counseling and psychological services that has been supervised by licensed mental health professionals.
Certification or Licensure Requirements: For social workers:
- Must hold Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) by date of hire
- Licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Alabama is required within 24 months of hire
For counselors:
- Must hold Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) by date of hire
- Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Alabama is required within 24 months of hire
Substitutions allowed for Experience: Doctoral degree accepted in lieu of experience requirement for advanced levels |
