Fleet Equipment and Yard Coordinator Supervisor

Experience Required

  • BS degree or equivalent in years of experience on transportation and fleet
  • Previous proof leadership experience handling medium to high level challenges
  • CDL "A" is a plus
  • 5 year or more leading teams on transportation/logistics or experience equivalent
  • Good communicator
  • Strong headship on leading drivers, supervisory experience
  • Follow OSHA work standard, including training and reporting incidents
  • Follow all FDA GMPs required to run a yard in a food processing plant
  • Mechanically inclined to understand truck breakdowns and repair
  • Good organizational skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset and implementation of new ways that will lead to operational improvements
  • Being able to work cross functional

Duties

  • Control of yard
  • Supervisor of yard drivers
  • Assign trailers to orders to be loaded that day to "close day", including corrugated orders
  • Assign trailers to orders to be loaded during the night. Provide Trailer Assignment sheet, "close the yard"
  • Direct handling of last minute yard/equipment issue
  • Direct trailer traffic at DC and plant yards
  • Maintain trailer/yard dog PM schedule
  • Work with Ryder to minimize repair time, schedule with Ryder. Identify red tag trailers and maintain log.
  • Work closely with plant team: communication of available trailers, send empty cases trailers to case dock following cooler and production and warehouse needs
  • Incident accident reporting for Transport fleet
  • Getting trailer repair approval with Anthony
  • Dry trailer inventory control, obtain night inventory from yard driver and use with production accordingly
