About the role:
As a Risk Analyst, you'll work on the cutting edge of cybersecurity with the largest FinTech company in the world. While using your advanced technical skills to protect FIS from threats, you will partner with business leaders to identify risks, evaluate the effectiveness of controls, and promote continuous improvement.

About the team:

The Governance, Risk and Compliance team supports three business segments and several regulated entities. We oversee, administer, and manage first line of defense activities, including working across the organization and with matrix partners to achieve efficiencies and results. We provide ongoing reporting to Senior Management and engage closely with business leaders, corporate compliance, and internal and external examiners.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading or partnering with business units to development, implement and administer operational controls, strategies, policies and programs of regulated entities, i.e., trust company or bank.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on operational risk matters, including proactively identifying areas of exposure and work across the organization to define and implement solutions.
  • Responsible for regulatory updates related to outsourcing and trust accounting activities.
  • Actively monitoring risk events and escalates where necessary.
  • Interacting with third party service providers to streamline efforts and reduce duplication in reporting and testing.
  • Interacting internal and external teams to ensure compliance with policies, controls and regulations.
  • Effectively managing multiple projects and responsibilities with various business segments to develop, administer and/or evaluate risk and audit programs.
  • Actively engaging with business unit to identify opportunities for creating efficiencies within operations and other areas of outsourcing.
  • Working with management and compliance to ensure compliance with policies and/or laws by creating or modifying documentation. Responsible for maintaining change and review logs.
  • Other related duties assigned as needed
  • Contributing to other risk management functions such as self-audit and vendor review programs.
  • Preparing reports for regulatory bodies and senior management on operational metrics, risk management activities and compliance status.

What you will need:

  • Experience and understanding of day-to-day operational functions within trust companies/trust accounting systems.
  • Familiarity with client services responsibilities related to servicing financial institutions
  • Understanding of operational controls, control testing, and control design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management or similar function.
  • Risk or audit experience in financial services/software industry a plus.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing operational risks and implementing risk management frameworks.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal, team, customer service, negotiation, conflict management and time management skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take
  • To be proactive and resourceful.

Added bonus if you have:

  • Client service, risk or technology background
  • Experience with Type I or Type II SOC Reporting
