The successful candidate will perform all activities required to provide technical support to external/internal customers; set up, maintain, troubleshoot, optimize and repair injection molding systems. They will provide guidance and work with other team member on tasks. In this role you will also act as a mentor, take charge and guide other team members.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Troubleshoot and make corrections as required to all control systems including hydraulic system, mechanical system, pneumatic system, electrical and electronic system and the programmable controls
  • Calibrate machine to achieve optimum performance, and set up and maintain machines
  • Provide system setup and startup support for all Husky equipment
  • Develop an organized approach to solving machine problems by use of all available reference materials including manuals, drawings, procedures, etc
  • Repair and/or replace any component on machine, robot, product handling equipment and mold as required
  • Develop and maintain superior customer relations
  • Co-ordinate and liaise with internal resources to ensure effective customer service
  • Instruct service technicians and/or customer operators on the maintenance and safe operation of injection molding systems
  • Must communicate with Call Center/SIF Team/Spare Parts Centers to get answers to problems encountered in the field
  • Provide regular and effective written reports to the Service Team Leader
  • Arrange for the return of parts to Spare Parts Center
  • Perform all tasks required by your team leader

Technical skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot electrical/electronic, hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of plastic processing
  • Knowledge of injection molding process
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems systematically
  • Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic system assembly knowledge required
  • Knowledgeable in plastic materials such as PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, and Styrene
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong customer service orientation
  • Tact and diplomacy (i.e. must possess the ability to handle difficult/unhappy customers)
  • Demonstrated initiative-taker with a positive attitude
  • Dedicated team player
  • Travel survival skills due to extensive travel required in this position

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education is required in Technical or Engineering related studies
  • 10+ years of injection molding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting or related experience
