 Position Summary
PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located  in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM.
  The University of New  Mexico-Gallup invites applications for the position of Lecturer II or III for  Human Services. We are one of four  branch community colleges of the University of New Mexico and serve  approximately 2200 students. Located  in Gallup NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is  situated in the Four Corners region and near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo  and Hopi Reservation. The city of  Gallup has a population of 22,000 and the surrounding areas provide an  abundance of outdoor recreational activities, various museums and  extraordinary cultural vibrancy, while maintaining a small-town feel. UNM-Gallup serves a  hugely diverse student population with 100+ full time and part-time faculty  members. We are fully accredited by  the Higher Learning Commission offering Associate degrees, selected  Bachelor's degrees, Career Technical Education certificate programs, and  adult basic education (ABE/GED), workforce training and personal enrichment  courses. UNM-Gallup serves multiple  high school populations including McKinley Academy, Middle College High  School and the Center for Career and Technical Education. It is an exciting  time to join our faculty as we are expanding our programs, engaging with our  community, establishing multiple endowments and grant opportunities while  hiring a substantial cohort of new faculty. Lecturers at UNM-G have career advancement opportunities that are  outlined in the UNM Faculty Handbook and faculty union collective bargaining  agreement. The successful candidate  will be expected to teach 27 semester hours per academic year in the area of  Human Services, maintain an active service record, participate in monthly  Division meetings and execute other relevant duties as agreed upon in  conjunction with the division chair in an annual faculty-chair  agreement. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate a  commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through actively practicing  inclusive behavior and proactively managing bias. 
 Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: . 
 - Master's Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program OR Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling OR related field with 18 graduate hours in human services/social work field by appointment/or application date. 
 
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
 - PhD in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program OR Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling OR related field with 18 graduate hours in human services/social work field by appointment/or application date.
 - One or more years in college or adult teaching experience, preferably at a community college.
 - Clinical experiences in the area of expertise such as child welfare, mental health, public health, substance abuse or domestic violence, etc
 - Clinical experience in the area of substance abuse
 - Experience in the use of information technology for instructional purpose in hybrid and online classes
 - A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
