Position Summary

Cosumnes River College (CRC) is seeking a full-time Building Inspection Technology faculty member to fill a position beginning Fall 2025. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated faculty who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner. The faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content by developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students' diverse needs and engage the student in critical thinking and problem-solving; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; plan, prepare, and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory formats based on the approved curricula; assist in the resolution of student issues when required; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assist the department with outreach and recruitment efforts for the program; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of a full-time faculty member.

Position Salary Information: Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupational experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract (the initial maximum placement is Class V, Step 8).   • BIT 110 Engineering and Structural Principles for Building Construction
  • BIT 112 Building Inspection Principles for Disabled Access
  • BIT 120 Mechanical I/Plumbing Code Requirements
  • BIT 121 Mechanical II / H.V.A.C. Code Requirements
  • BIT 130 Introduction to Inspection of Wood Frame Construction
  • BIT 140 Residential Electrical Code Requirements
  • BIT 141 Commercial Electrical Code Requirements
  • BIT 150 California Energy Code - Building Energy Efficiency
  • BIT 154 California Green Building Standards Code

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Have a bachelor's degree AND two years of occupational and/or professional experience directly related to the assignment being taught OR have an associate's degree AND six years of occupational and/or professional experience directly related to the assignment being taught; OR the equivalent*. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire.
  2. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
