Duties, Responsibilities & Other

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*:

The Drafter is responsible for producing precise and detailed construction drawings and designs in alignment with project specifications. This role demands knowledge of design software, adherence to company policies, and compliance with standards. The Drafter will collaborate with project teams, ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget, and contribute to continuous improvement and safe working practices. Key Responsibilities:
    Design and draft construction drawings using required design software, ensuring they meet the required standards for approval by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Review and interpret design manuals, technical documents, and local jurisdiction details.
  • Size and specify design requirements accurately.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring projects meet ISO compliance requirements.
  • Strive to achieve or exceed the budgeted individual utilization target.
  • Attend bi-weekly or more frequent meetings with project teams to discuss progress and address any issues.
  • Demonstrate commitment to team performance and actively participate in meetings.
  • Complete all assigned tasks on time, within budget, and in accordance with the project scope.
  • Compare field data to base plans to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Design and draft construction drawings using standard engineering principles for approval by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Collect necessary data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs, to support project needs.
  • Read and interpret technical documents, design manuals, and local jurisdiction details to effectively perform job duties.
  • Size and specify design requirements, ensuring all design aspects meet project and regulatory standards.
  • Complete other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Knowledge in required design software
  • Entry level position

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Understanding of drafting fundamentals is preferred.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Valid Driver's License
