What you will do

Johnson Controls is embarking on a multi-year transformation to change the way it delivers value to its customers. Through transformation, we want to explore, embrace and adopt new ideas, processes, and technologies that will help us 1) integrate our operations, providing one face to the customer; 2) improve our customers' satisfaction with commercial operations processes 3) become a dynamic, exciting place to work for our employees. We need process leaders with a strategic vision to help us realize these goals.

The Process Improvement Manager will be responsible for developing processes and supporting the Global Commercial Operations organization. Reporting to the Executive Director of Program Management, this role will lead process improvement for global commercial teams and will own the execution of those processes into functional areas. Desired outcomes include an improved customer experience, an improved employee experience, and a positive ROI for the organization.

How you will do it

  • Consistently look to improve sales process through data, process improvements, etc.

  • Lead value stream mapping and kaizen activity to eliminate waste across different business processes.

  • Create and deploy standard work, processes globally in support of commercial activities.

  • Work with Commercial analytics team to understand data, analyze, track/manage, report on kpi's.

  • Identify key blockers to engagement and execution and reduce them through the Problem-Solving Report methodology.

  • Own the seamless execution of implemented processes to the org upon completion of each phase of transformation including tracking of success measures.

  • Drives standardization, simplicity, and harmonization of processes.

  • Leverage Lean, Agile, and/or Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, process variation, and non-value-add activities in order to maximize seller effectiveness.

What we look for

Required

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in process improvement, industrial engineering, strategy, or related fields.

  • Experience executing Process initiatives that align with business goals and budget.

  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools (DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).

  • Experience in identifying and assessing complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

  • Experience in effectively supporting change within a team, function, or area.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, OneNote, PowerPoint, Power BI, and SharePoint).

  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis (ANOVA, DOE, Regression, etc.) and related tools (Minitab, etc.)

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, Commercial Operations, or a related field.

  • Lean Six Sigma certification

  • Ability to work effectively in a highly energetic, global, and dynamic environment, dedication to teamwork, a strong work initiative, and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas.

  • Interest or previous experience in transformational change, project management office, and/or operational excellence.

  • Experience communicating business initiatives in a clear and concise manner to multiple types of audiences and channels.
