Scrum Master

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support a newly formed, "green" team within the engineering division of our client's environment.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in an Agile environment in roles such as Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Quality Assurance, Development, or Product Owner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to coach and empower teams to reach their highest potential.
  • Excellent team player and team builder with a track record of fostering high-performing teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with associates at all organizational levels.
  • Experience managing interpersonal conflicts, team challenges, and opportunities for growth.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment.
  • High-level understanding of technical issues and their implications.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and creative in enabling team members to propose solutions to complex problems.
  • Skilled in managing difficult stakeholders and aligning sprint/release expectations with broader strategic timelines.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a servant leader and mentor to a cross-functional Agile team.
  • Apply Lean/Agile principles and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, TDD, SAFe) to guide technology solution delivery.
  • Facilitate team ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews/demos, and retrospectives.
  • Coach team members on Agile values such as collaboration, prioritization, accountability, and transparency.
  • Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's ability to deliver on commitments.
  • Facilitate the creation and adoption of team agreements and definitions of "done" using appropriate tools, standards, and practices.
  • Ensure transparent tracking of tasks, features, and sprint delivery KPIs.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration and creativity while empowering the team to self-organize.
  • Support the team in making commitments through effective story selection, success criteria, and task definitions.
  • Define and promote quality practices to ensure team deliverables meet performance expectations.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing improvements to best practices.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;
  • other business and organizational needs.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
