CAD Design Engineer:

This position is an entry/mid-level position in support of DCS's Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) Customers servicing as a Design Engineer with the responsibility of providing engineering and CAD support to the Tech Data Management Group. Working alongside GVSC's CAD Projects Team, the primary function will be reviewing Technical Drawings for USG compliance and creating manufacturable 3D models for ground vehicle systems and components.

Essential Job Functions:

Review and edit CAD technical drawings up to level 3 standards in support of re-draw efforts, ECP's, and TDP deliveries

Convert 2D drawings to manufacturable 3D models, upload, and release CAD technical data packages within the product data management system

Work with a cross functional team to resolve any issues preventing the release of the supporting information into the system IAW TDM policies and processes

Attend Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, systems engineering meetings, and staff meetings to provide technical analysis, recommendations, and overall project updates

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering/Technical Field or an Associate's Degree in a Engineering/Technical Field with 2 years of experience (Mechanical Engineering preferred)

Must be proficient in at least one CAD software. (CREO or NX preferred)

Must have strong skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and databases)

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent oral and written communications skills

Desired Skills:

Educated on standard drawing practices per Mil-Std-31000, ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5

Interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

Experience in Windchill

Machine Shop experience with background in manufacturing environments
