ChampionX has an immediate opening for a Business Development Manager located in Northeast US region supporting Norriseal-Wellmark valves and controls business. This position is responsible for leading and executing sales growth strategies for the Norriseal-Wellmark valves and controls business in the Northeast region.This is your opportunity to join a growing company offering a competitive base pay and benefits.

What You Will Do:

  • Direct sales influence with end users to spec in Norriseal-Wellmark products
  • Work closely with channel partners to identify opportunities and develop new business
  • Support oilfield and non-oilfield accounts
  • Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, and closing business relationships
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations
  • Examines risks and potentials for the business opportunities
  • Estimates partners' needs and goals
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; and integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Enhances organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing requests
  • Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Manage projects and simultaneously collaborates with multiple internal and external stakeholders, balancing tactical and strategic issues while driving for results
  • Synthesizing market and customer intelligence for the development of compelling go-to-market strategies
  • Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to deliver high quality market driven products.
  • Managing category and product specific pricing and profitability metrics to meet company KPIs
  • Analyze and communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and customers, in a clear and concise manner
  • Travel for customer visits, coordinate trade shows and promotional events

  • Regular attendance and punctuality to scheduled meetings in the region or business headquarters in Houston, TX are expected upon accepting this position

Position Details:

  • Candidate must reside in or around Eastern Ohio, SW Pennsylvania or NW West Virginia area
  • Route Territory will include Northeast US region
  • Work week and shift: Primarily Monday through Friday with flexible and regularly scheduled customer meetings, team and sales calls, business meetings, etc.
  • Compensation package offered: Competitive annual salary paid bi-weekly with eligibility for quarterly sales incentive bonus based on meeting sales and personal goals
  • New hire training provided: New Employee Orientation, product training, sales training, safety training, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in business development / sales into the upstream and midstream oil & gas industry, and/or valves and controls market
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to meet driving standards and acceptable driving records to meet the company policies n& guidelines
  • Knowledge and adherence to export control regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external groups
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-75% in the specified sales territory
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities at one time
  • Is open to change and new information; adapts behavior or work methods in response to new information, changing conditions or unexpected obstacles; effectively deals with ambiguity

Physical Demands:

  • Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
  • Minimal climbing stairs, lifting/carrying up to 40lbs, reaching, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling and collating/filing up to 10%
  • Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25lbs, dialing, standing, walking and writing between 11% and 33%
  • Frequent lifting/carrying up to 10lbs and driving between 33% and 66%
  • Constant use of a keyboard and viewing a laptop/computer monitor, sitting, seeing, hearing and speaking greater than 66%
  • Frequent travel including air and land travel will be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or similar faculty
  • MBA
  • Norriseal-Wellmark valves & controls experience
  • Extensive knowledge of upstream & midstream oil and gas service business and customer base
