Job Description

Allied Universal is hiring a Nuclear ISFSI Facilities Specialist. The Facilities Specialist is responsible for maintaining ISFSI facilities and equipment. This position provides configuration, calibration, maintenance and repair services for facilities and equipment. The Facilities Specialist communicates with, coordinates the activities of, and supervises vendors providing technical services for ISFSI facilities and equipment. This role develops and/or maintains databases related to work requests, repair history, inspection documentation, and other facilities maintenance and repair requirements. This position develops procedures and work instructions for the use and maintenance of facilities and equipment. The Facilities Specialist prepares reports, work orders, logs, etc. and ensures that all records are filed according to ISFSI policy and procedures.

    Pay Rate $28.57 / hour
  • Firearms experience is required
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License
  • Monday - Thursday Schedule, but may include nights and weekends if needed
    • Must be able to work varying shifts to cover 24/7 operations, including mandatory overtime if needed

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform or provide for mechanical and electrical maintenance functions at the ISFSI
  • Ensure that the configuration of all site systems, structures and components is controlled through the proper use of site work control processes
  • Calibrate, maintain, and repair, without direction, instrumentation, control systems, or equipment
  • Provide technical supervision and instruction to others calibrating, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation, control systems or equipment
  • Maintain Measuring and Test Equipment (MT&E) within calibration including all required documentation
  • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of procedures, reports, drawings, or studies as required
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and commitments as they apply to site system, structures, and components
  • Maintain knowledge of site administrative policies, procedures, and practices
  • Prepare reports, work orders, logs and historical records as required
  • Provide for safety (OSHA) oversight of operational activities
  • Act as the technical support responder for Emergency Plan activities as required
  • Performed armed physical security duties as required
  • Be able to work varying shifts to cover 24/7 operations, including mandatory overtime if needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Must be able to obtain a State of CT Guard Card and State of CT Pistol Permit
  • Current Driver's License as this role will be driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • Post offer, must be able to successfully complete and maintain all training and qualifications required for the position including but not limited to:
    • Security and Training Qualification Plan requirements
    • Thermodynamic and heat transfer theory as applicable to ISFSI operations
    • Nuclear decay heat generation applicable to ISFSI storage
    • Criticality considerations applicable to ISFSI storage
    • Health Physics/Radiation protection
    • Equipment design features and operating characteristics of ISFSI structures and components
    • ISFSI Technical Specifications and selected operating emergency and administrative features
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance functions
  • Effective oral and written communication; able to present to executive level, both client and AUS
  • Planning and organizing; setting and achieving goals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Problem solving; active listening; attention to detail
  • Encourage effective teamwork, team leadership; coaching, mentoring, motivating
  • Strategic orientation; assess and evaluate situations effectively
