MaineHealth Stephens Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join their highly skilled Emergency Department team located in Norway, Maine.

Enjoy a rewarding work - life balance in an outstanding community Emergency Department located about 1 hour from Portland, Maine. The MaineHealth Stephens ED sees over 20,000 visits per year with a well-rounded case mix. The all-physician group is close-knit with low turnover and enjoys an excellent reputation in the local medical community. MaineHealth Stephens is a 25-bed critical access hospital with 24-hour hospitalist, surgery, obstetric, orthopedic, anesthesia, and pediatric coverage. The entire MaineHealth system uses an integrated EPIC EHR system, allowing ready access to consultants at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center via phone and telehealth. The Stephens ED is embarking upon an expansion to increase exam rooms by 40%. As a part of this expansion, physician staffing will increase to 40 hours on weekdays and 36 hours on weekends, creating a new full-time opening beginning in the summer of 2025.

Flexible schedule - Full-time or Part-Time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.

  • Well-equipped ED with late model point of care ultrasound, Glidescope system, 24-hour CT and Xray coverage, 24-hour respiratory therapy coverage, on-call ultrasonography during off-hours, and ready access to MRI during normal business hours. Additionally, an in-house EMS service is available for transfers, significantly reducing transfer delays compared to national trends.
