National Grid is hiring a Data Scientist for ourGas Performance Reporting Analysis in the following locations: Brooklyn NY, Syracuse NY, or Melville NY.

The Data Scientist will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models and automation tools to enhance business processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with an understanding of advanced analytics, machine learning and process automation. • Develop, implement and deploy machine learning models, by mining big data, to solve complex business problems.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of machine learning models, ensuring they meet the desired outcomes. Continuously improve models based on feedback and new data.
• Automate data processing and analysis workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on the analysis of data and model performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning and related technologies.

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python required.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as R, SQL or Java.

• 1+ years of experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-learn, PyTorch or similar

• Strong understanding of statistical analysis and mathematical modeling.

• Experience in building and validating predictive models to forecast trends and behaviors.

• Familiarity with data preprocessing and feature engineering techniques.

• Knowledge of database systems and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
