Position Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant performs various duties assisting the staff in the treatment and care of participants. They shall work harmoniously with the participants, personnel, and others. The Nursing Assistant demonstrates integrity, dependability, honesty, resourcefulness and enthusiasm for work.

Education and Credentials:

  • Must be a high-school graduate or successfully completed the GED.
  • Must have completed a Nursing Assistant Program and be certified in the state of Illinois.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum 6mo.-1-year experience preferred


Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • An interest in spending time, energy and enthusiasm to a program designed to improve all the lives of those with cardiovascular disease and their families.
  • Assists as directed in emergency situations
  • Other duties as capable and assigned by professional staff
  • Reinforces concept of healthy lifestyle by words and actions
  • Must have good communication skills and ability to operate designated computer equipment
  • Must be in good physical health and able to work under pressure.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • The ideal candidate must be able to work and complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Constant kneeling, stooping, bending, twisting and occasional need to lift patients
  • Medium Lifting, generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with assistance, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Enjoys working with people and works cooperatively with other hospital staff.
  • Ability to stand for periods of time while setting up equipment, assisting in therapy of patients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work accurately and effectively in oral and written directions and communication.
