Location: Pompano Beach, FL, 33309
Duration: Full Time Permanent
Pay Rate: $ 55000- 80000 / Annually on W2 with benefits
Shift Timing (Day/ Evening/ Night): 8am to 4:30pm

Job Description:

  • The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing corporate safety programs and objectives and will coordinate safety training programs. Monitors safety regulations and provides technical support to plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical safety and health support and information to production and corporate personnel.
  • Prepares written safety programs and policies.
  • Identifies new and existing employees training needs and coordinates and develops or sources training programs.
  • Participates in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analysis, operator training, etc.
  • Supports management to implement production controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
  • Supports plant employees in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains company's training library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
  • Promotes safety awareness through internal company memoranda, specific training programs, and safety team.
  • Prepares Job Hazard Analysis documents.
  • Manages SDS and GHS labeling system.
  • Reviews process-operating procedures/records and provides input for safety considerations.
  • Understands federal and state occupational safety regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
  • Provides technical support to corporate and plant employees to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety regulations.
  • Advises staff of regulatory changes with which the company must comply. Sufficient advance notice should be provided so that compliance on the effective date of new regulations is ensured.
  • Audits practices and records of manufacturing plant to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker's compensation claims.
  • Writes and reviews plant safety team meeting minutes and safety inspection reports and follows up as necessary.
  • Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
  • Facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual training, and on-the-job coaching.
  • Develop training aids such as manuals and handbooks.
  • Track and report on training outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to program participants and management.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on training material and methodology.
  • Collaborates with H.R Director to review Job Descriptions every 2 years or as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or a minimum of 2 years prior Human Resources, Safety and Training experience required.
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Occupational Safety Certificate desired.
