The Lead Maintenance Facilities Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all physical aspects of the facility are clean, organized and sanitary. Additionally, leads housekeeping crew to ensure all assigned duties/responsibilities are executed and completed in a timely basis to meet company's objectives. Finally, ensures a safe and efficient work environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Schedule and direct a crew of Facilities Specialist/Housekeeping Workers.
  • Provide training, work direction and guidance while performing work in housekeeping services.
  • Assist supervisor in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies.
  • Report to supervisors regarding work completed referring unusual technical or personnel issues to the Facilities Manager.
  • Provide input to performance reviews; monitor work of assigned crew members.
  • Performs daily inspections of work completed by direct reports.
  • Maintain reporting systems and records.
  • Assess emergency situations and notifies the Facility Manager as needed.
  • Responds to emergency situations that may require working on site at the facility after business hours.
  • Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

EDUCATION:



  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent



EXPERIENCE:



  • At least 2 years of housekeeping experience and/or training in custodial work
  • At least 1 year of experience in leading the activities of other staff preferred Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations
  • Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products
  • Excellent organizational and team management skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES:



  • Language: Excellent communication skills both verbal and oral. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to use basic math
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite --Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize as necessary.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must work well within a team environment and independently.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May work with toxic or caustic chemicals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and sometimes excessive.
