About The Role

Summary:

The Loan Assistant "LA" provides support to assigned team to include Loan Officer(s), Portfolio Manager(s), Loan Operations and Credit on loan functions from start to finish throughout the process. This role has a high level of contact with internal employee, customer and 3rd party vendors and requires the demonstration of time management, multitasking, communication, organization skills and traveling related to closings or coverage at other branch locations may be involved.

The compensation minimum within the wage range for this position is $23.00 to $26.50 hourly and will vary depending on what city the applicant works in. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate and maintain open communication between assigned teams to include LA's direct manager, loan officers, customers, attorneys, branch staff, other GBCI Divisions and departments, outside vendors, title company, closing agents and insurance companies
  • Assist customers and officer(s) with the processing of loan payments, loan advances, construction advances, and DDA transfers through CPB Loan Coordinators on the same day as requested. Assist with wire transfer orders connected to loan closings. When necessary, on occasions will assist with customer wire requests who have a loan relationship via the universal banker and treasury. Will assist in identify and resolve errors and discrepancies with the above requests
  • Schedule and perform closings for commercial & industrial loans, commercial real estate, commercial loans with residential real estate, and courtesy closings for consumer transactions when needed. The closings may be conducted at borrower's office, title companies or other CPB branches where LA is not based
  • Collect required paperwork from loan officers, portfolio managers and credit, build loan files and submit to Clear to Close "CTC" at different loan levels. Once file is CTC will submit file to Loan Operations for preparation of loan documentation, this includes documentation required by new/renewed checklist, flood certificates, title work, appraisals, environmental reports, pulling UCC lien searches
  • Assists and understands the opening process for deposit accounts, deposit accounts connected to loans as collateral through the CSR or Treasury Management staff following the process they have set
  • Review draft loan documents to ensure they are complete & accurate according to entity documentation, loan approvals and policies and procedures and present file for final CTC. Send final complete loan package for booking and record all appropriate collateral documents, when necessary, in SimpleFile.
  • Order title commitments and demonstrate an understanding of the title requirements and exceptions to be satisfied before closing on residential and commercial properties before presenting to loan admin manager for CTC approval.
  • Read, understand, and balance a two column Title Settlement Statement back to internal loan summary of loan proceeds and disbursement and authorization
  • Assists in fulfilling the equity requirements for a loan prior to closing at CTC level and accounting for those funds
  • Fulfills loan Special Conditions and Covenants spelled on Credit Authorization prior to closing and CTC approval
  • Assist officer in the monitoring of loan maturing reports
  • Track and resolve outstanding loan exception items in collateral tracking including exceptions for missing or expired loan documents. May assist CPB Loan Coordinators with research and clearing exceptions within a 60-day timeline for final title policy and insurance.
  • Scan customer information documents and loan documents in nCino DocMann and Synergy. Will ensure they are imaged to correct placeholder and properly labeled in the document imaging system.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all products to include deposit knowledge offered by Collegiate Peaks Bank
  • Qualify for and perform the duties of a Notary Public of the State of Colorado, including understanding the responsibilities of a notary as defined by [12-55-102 (3)] C.R.S.
  • Perform job functions in compliance with all company policies, federal and state rules, and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, CRA, HMDA, FHLB, OFAC, SOx and GLBA/privacy rules
  • Other duties as assigned

About You

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 6 months experience as a Commercial New Accounts Representative required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Jack Henry Silverlake, Laser Pro and Encino platform
  • Ability to apply logical or critical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough, and timely manner
  • Must be able to organize, monitor and respond to a high volume of emails daily, both internal and external
  • Demonstrate a high level of organization, ability to prioritize and multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy, manage multiple projects, demonstrate self-motivation and ability to follow through with tasks
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others; work to develop and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships; represent the bank in a positive manner and maintain credibility with others
  • Ability to produce work within directed timeframe without compromising integrity or quality of work
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding any information obtained during the course of performing job duties; adhere to Bank policies and procedures regarding confidentiality

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Working Conditions: Work performed in an office environment. Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Mental Conditions: Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and provide information through a logical and clear delivery. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
