Overview

Virginia Oncology Associates (VOA) is the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders. Virginia Oncology's staff is immersed in an innovative work environment where new ideas, collaborative efforts, and quality execution are recognized and appreciated. We are currently seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to work in our Norfolk office; oncology is a drug intense discipline with a significant need for the expertise pharmacists.

Responsibilities

Among the responsibilities of the clinical pharmacist are:

  • Daily review of patient drug orders for appropriateness,
  • Recommend drug dose adjustments as clinically indicated,
  • Provide Drug Information and respond to drug queries from physicians and nurses in the practice,
  • Advise and support Central and Office Admixture Services, the Cellular Therapy program and Research protocols.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and the Business Office in managing the high costs of cancer care.

Qualifications

  • PharmD or Bachelors degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Must possess a current Pharmacist license in the state of Virginia
  • At least 5 years experience as a registered pharmacist
  • Prior supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Must be willing and able to travel to all VOA sites
