Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Shipping team in sending card packages to banks and directly to the cardholers. This includes managing the performance of the team and monitoring orders that are requested to be shipped via FedEx or UPS. This may include sending accurate status reports to key leaders, manage corrective actions, and performing other shipping planning duties as needed.



Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

    Supervise and provide daily direction to the Shipping team to ensure timely and accurate shipments.
  • Manage shift schedules and time-off requests to ensure full coverage at all times.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations.
  • Monitor daily orders to be shipped by deadlines; ensuring all orders are shipped on-time.
  • Investigate and identify discrepancies or misshipments and complete root cause analysis for errors and assist with actions to resolve issues.
  • Review processes; develop and implement process improvements.
  • Work closely with Operations Leadership to develop and implement standard best practices to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Confer with other managers and/or supervisors to coordinate activities between departments.
  • Ensure all employees complete mandatory monthly training as scheduled.
  • Successfully complete required secure card verifications.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

Requirements:
* Associate's Degree in Business or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum two (2) years' supervisory experience preferably in a production or inventory environment.
* Demonstrated understanding of shipping principles and concepts.
* Intermediate knowledge of MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, order processing and inventory.
* Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Qualifications:
* Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of organization.
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts through the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages.

*Proficient communication skills including reading, writing and speaking in English

Decision Making Level/Position Latitude:
Position will have ability to influence hiring decisions and disciplinary actions, up to and including terminations.

Physical Demand:

  • Ability to be present in the facility and work a minimum of 40 hours per week;
  • Hours are minimum 40 hours per week during company's regular business hours however evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; ability to be available for all shifts required;
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus;
  • Work is in a typical manufacturing environment; prolonged sitting and/or standing required (1-2 hours at a time); ability to move around the facility; climb ladders; crawl under/over; reach; bend; stoop; lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
