Unarmed Convention and Event Security Officer Mandalay Bay Convention February 8 - 12, 2025
As an Unarmed Convention and Event Security Officer, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of individuals, property, and assets.
You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment while providing excellent customer service to event attendees, participants, sponsors, and staff.
This position requires remaining calm under pressure, exercising sound judgment, and effectively communicating with Supervisors, event staff, other security personnel, and emergency services.
Essential Functions:
- Report to work on time and remains on assigned post until relieved as required.
- Monitor event areas to prevent unauthorized access and maintain crowd control.
- Direct traffic on roadways or within parking lots as required, facilitate the movement of event equipment and emergency vehicles on-site, and maintain access control.
- Must cover an assignment for the purpose of monitoring, detecting, and preventing individuals or groups from committing acts that are injurious or disruptive to the client and property.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, including disturbances, medical emergencies, or safety hazards.
- Enforce event policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a safe environment.
- Observe and report suspicious activities, individuals, or packages to the appropriate authorities.
- Provide exceptional customer service to event attendees by addressing inquiries, concerns, or requests professionally and courteously.
- Assist with directions, crowd management, and information dissemination to enhance the event experience.
- Act as a point of contact for lost and found items and ensure proper documentation and retrieval processes.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with event staff, supervisors, and other security personnel using radios and phones.

- Constant ability to sit, stand stationary, and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively and coherently while initiating and responding to radio and/or telephone communications.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Must be presently eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid PILB Guard Card
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent visual awareness.
- Ability to work in a team and maintain composure in stressful situations.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate using hand signals.
- Must Read/Write/Speak English fluently.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass an applicable background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must possess a valid PILB Guard Card
- Must maintain client approval to be assigned to a site
