Our Controls Install Techs are instrumental in supporting our Installation teams in building long-term customer relations, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customer systems. They will assist in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Lead and assist teams of installers in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building control systems.

* Uphold and teach control installation standards and best practices for current systems and methods

* Participate and hold training for ACS Field team members to help master their craft

* Become Arc Flash Trainer certified and assist with training and certifying field employees

* In-depth level understanding of all mechanical systems in the buildings we serve

* Provide job leadership to other install team members and lead the installation efforts on jobs.

* Mentor and lead other Controls Install Techs through their Pathways.

* Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, control drawings, and mechanical drawings

* Expertise in network layout, communication wiring and troubleshooting, panel building and wiring, safety interlocks and VFD wiring,

* Assist with coordination of team labor needs and emergency customer needs

* Respond to BAS emergencies during off hours if necessary.

* Prepare documentation and reports on work status and completion.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* At least 5 years of experience working in an installation-type role for a systems manufacturer or authorized systems representative/supplier/vendor on communicating or networked electronic systems.

* Must have at least 2 years of experience within McKenney's ACS field

* Experienced knowledge of controls installation standards and methods, electronics, logic, and systems design for various system types, including Pneumatic, Electric/Electronic, Digital, and Analog, and Direct Digital Control (DDC)

* Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications, and database software.

* Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and schematics

* High School diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent certification

* Computer networking experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY, AND CHARACTERISTICS

* Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network, and wiring drawings.

* Ability to manage professional e-mail communications

* Ability to manage and maintain a calendar and task management systems

* Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude always.

* Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and timeliness

* Must uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and others

* Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

* Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.

* Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

* Moderate physical effort. It requires the handling of objects of an average weight of up to 50 pounds and extensive sitting. Some walking and standing.
