JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Our center provides a variety of cultural, educational, social, and recreational programs, fostering an environment that values respect, diversity, and the contributions of all its members. Open 24/7, the HUB-Robeson Center serves over 40,000 students at Penn State.

We are currently seeking applicants for the HUB-Robeson Center Facilities Supervisor (Environmental Services Supervisor).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the facility during the second shift and weekends in coordination with the lead Environmental Services Manager.

  • Train and evaluate employees, approve time and attendance, and administer the University/Teamster contract.

  • Manage absences, plan and rotate overtime work, and enforce policies and procedures.

  • Manage inventory, provide technical expertise, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Interact with Penn State students and staff to solve problems, provide advice, and ensure successful events, programs, and meetings.

  • Ensure safe work conditions through OSHA guideline compliance, appropriate chemical storage, personal protective equipment usage, and implementation of occupational health programs.

  • Participate in emergency planning and response, and investigate accidents.

  • Prioritize and issue work assignments, inspect work for quality and productivity, and develop work plans.

  • Ensure proper setup for events, including audio-visual needs.

  • Hire, train, evaluate, and supervise technical service employees.

  • Develop and provide training, maintain accurate records, and coordinate activities of assigned staff.

  • Research, recommend, and order materials, coordinate work with outside vendors, and provide informal estimates for services.

  • Implement, enforce, and make recommendations for work rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and vendors, resolve issues, and ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
