Unit Bio:If you're looking for a diverse role that allows you to use technical, interpersonal and administrative skills, then a career as a Nursing Unit Secretary might be ideal for you. Unit secretaries play a vital role in the healthcare industry because they support a wide range of individuals, including patients and other medical professionals. The Nursing Unit Secretary performs clerical, receptionist, and transporter duties. The ideal candidate for this role will possessstrong customer service skills, effective communication skills, and have the ability to multi-task. P6 (Pavilion 6) is the 21 bed Inpatient Medical Psychiatry unit at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland. Over the years it has evolved from a traditional psychiatric unit to one that serves an increasingly medically complex population with a particular emphasis on Geriatric Psychiatry. All patients on P6 have both a major psychiatric illness, as well as a medical comorbidity that requires an inpatient level of care. We are excited to grow our interdisciplinary team and welcome all applicants from those new to Psychiatry, to those who have many years of experience. Summary: The Nursing Unit Secretary II role performs clerical, receptionist, and transporter duties. This role has responsibility for advanced unit involvement in projects and house-wide activities.
