Service Technician II

Description

Inspect, maintain, and complete repairs on "Compressed Natural Gas" (CNG), "Liquefied Natural Gas" (LNG), and/or "Liquid to Compressed Natural Gas" (LCNG) fueling equipment, including compressors, dispensers, priority panels, dryers, storage tanks and other related equipment. During inspections, Service Technician II will identify and repair corrective action and/or proactive maintenance service actions required on CNG / LNG equipment. Service Tech II will participate and/or lead in major overhauls, rebuilds and startups. Service Tech II will perform Preventative Maintenance service orders with minimal supervision and escalate to Service Tech III and Master Technician as needed. Service Technician II will ensure that assigned stations are aesthetically pleasing for our customers by cleaning and wiping down equipment, removing visible trash and ensuring trash containers are emptied.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Electrical:

Inspect, maintain, and adjust electrical equipment such as but not limited to electrical wiring, conduit, panels, switch gear, switches, gauges, transducers, solenoids, gas dryers, actuators, motors, meters, frequency drives and controls for safe and proper operating condition.

Must have a strong working knowledge and be able to demonstrate ability to diagnose and repair electrical problems such as current overloads, ground faults, open circuits, and faulty relay logic, also should be able to monitor, check and correct phase imbalances, current draw, low voltage power supply's, pressure transmitters, relay logic and programmable logic control operation.

Repair, replace, and adjust malfunctioning equipment to restore proper operating condition specified in regulations and repair manuals.

Mechanical:

Inspect, maintain, and adjust mechanical equipment such as but not limited to, compressors pumps, engines, intercoolers, after coolers, heat exchangers, piping, tubing, fittings, filters, traps, gas dryers, fasteners, valves and actuators for safe and proper operating condition.

General:

Make periodic inspections of fueling locations and equipment to determine proper and normal operating conditions. Check and record operational data such as fluid levels, temperatures, and pressures, compare to trends and have the ability to make corrections as needed.

Diagnose and correct faulty and malfunctioning mechanical and/or electrical components, devices and equipment related to CNG, LNG and/or LCNG.

Clean and maintain fueling locations.

Update and document all activity, service orders, work performed and recommendation in our D365 Clean Energy Field Service Automation (FSA) software. Must be proficient on a personal computer, laptop, and mobile devices.

Maintain all fueling related equipment and structures in accordance with manufactures requirements and Clean Energy standard operating procedures.

Drives to or between company sites to perform job responsibilities.

Coverage at other stations in neighboring states may be required due to business needs and advancement criteria.

Availability to be on-call 24/7 outside normal business hours may be required.

Availability during off-duty hours as required including potential overtime hours.

Other duties as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma (preferred) or equivalent plus a minimum of 4 years of related or equivalent combination of education and experience.
