About the role

The Alcoa global organization has embraced the principles and fundamentals of the Alcoa Business System (ABS) to achieve rapid cost reduction and continuous process improvements to underpin the long-term sustainability of the business. This is a great opportunity to influence for sustainable transformation change and line management experience.

As the Global ABS Manager, you will provide critical support for global ABS strategy deployment and ensure that the operations are well supported in the change management process and is able to transform the global ABS strategy to the regions in a manner that is impactful, sustainable and is built to purpose.

The role will need to develop an expertise on a set of ABS best practices to become the reference point for the organization. Working with the operations, global ABS Director, other planning and performance team members and collaborating with location ABS personnel, location leaders and key operational personnel will be critical to ensure that the ABS principles and strategy can support the high priorities for transformation of the operations.

Reporting to the Global ABS Director, you will

  • Be responsible for supporting the global development and maintain the state-of-the-art Alcoa Business System (ABS) for the operations and be the experts in ABS best practices for the global business
  • Support the global and regional deployment of ABS across the portfolio of operations
  • Influence leaders in change management best practices of ABS
  • Develop the integration of the Operational Performance Dashboard into ABS
  • Provide progress measurement & feedback processes via 'health checks' of the systems and facilitate the development of actions to address any issues with the deployment of the ABS strategy
  • Provide systems and programs that support the operational transformation with ABS.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or Business is essential.
  • ABS or Lean qualification would be highly desirable
  • 10 years'+ experience in Operations/Technical/Business systems/business and leadership roles in an industrial/process manufacturing environment are essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production system implementation / LEAN in large manufacturing processes
  • Experience in leading change, building relationships, and working collaboratively through people without direct line authority
  • Demonstrated business orientation, focused on achieving appropriate balance between cost, risk, and long-term value creation
  • Process understanding and analytical skills to improve operational stability and discipline.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills within multi-disciplinary technical teams.

* Etre responsable de soutenir le developpement global et de maintenir le systeme d'affaires Alcoa (ABS) de pointe pour les operations et etre l'expert des meilleures pratiques ABS pour l'entreprise au niveau global.

* Soutenir le deploiement mondial et regional de l'ABS dans l'ensemble du portefeuille d'operations.

* Influencer les dirigeants dans les meilleures pratiques de gestion du changement de l'ABS

* Developper l'integration du Tableau de Bord de Performance Operationnelle dans ABS

* Fournir des processus de mesure des progres et de retour d'information via des controles de sante des systemes et faciliter le developpement d'actions pour resoudre tout probleme lie au deploiement de la strategie ABS.

* Fournir des systemes et des programmes qui soutiennent la transformation operationnelle avec l'ABS.

Ce que vous apportez au role

* Un diplome d'etudes superieures en ingenierie, en sciences ou en commerce est essentiel.

* Une qualification ABS ou Lean serait hautement souhaitable

* Plus de 10ans d'experience dans les operations/techniques/systemes d'affaires (ABS) / roles commerciaux et de direction dans un environnement minier/de fabrication de procedes sont essentiels.

* Connaissance demontree de la mise en uvre de systemes de production / LEAN dans les grands processus de fabrication

* Experience dans la gestion du changement, l'etablissement de relations et le travail collaboratif avec des personnes sans autorite directe

* Orientation commerciale demontree, axee sur l'atteinte d'un equilibre approprie entre les couts, les risques et la creation de valeur a long terme.

* Comprehension des processus et competences analytiques pour ameliorer la stabilite operationnelle et la discipline.

* Competences efficaces en matiere de communication et de relations interpersonnelles au sein d'equipes techniques multidisciplinaires.

Base salary for US candidates: $125,000- $160,000*

*Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, such as candidate qualifications, skills and competencies. The base salary is only one key component of our total rewards for employees.
