JOB TITLE:

Assistant Manager, Dining Services Purchasing and Receiving

JOB PURPOSE:

Organize, coordinate and supervise assigned personnel in their operational duties for receiving food deliveries, managing food storage and daily delivery of goods to satellite campus food service units under limited supervision.

This position has been deemed essential as addressed in the University of Wyoming's Employee Handbook . Employees in essential positions may be required to work during emergency closures and winter closure based on the nature of their job duties and the reasons for the closure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate and participate in all the operational activities of the receiving, storage and transport of daily food deliveries from broadline vendors to campus dining operations.
  • Assist with receiving and inventory management record keeping.
  • Train receiving personnel in receiving, storage, transport and inventory.
  • Supervise and inspect work activities of receiving personnel, assist in set-up work and daily operations of a receiving dock and food storage warehouse; oversee cleaning and routine maintenance of designated area and delivery vehicles.
  • Supervise and evaluate work performance of assigned personnel.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing security, sanitary, and safety regulations and policies.
  • Ensure a food safe environment from receipt of deliveries to delivery to customers.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • May maintain inventory records; order and receive supplies and equipment.
  • Support residential dining production as necessary.

WORK LOCATION ELIGIBILITY: This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 1-year work-related experience

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements:

Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage and coach entry level managers
  • 2 years experience in retail food service
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
