Columbia University in the City of New York: The School at Columbia Location 01 Open Date Nov 12, 2024 Salary Range or Pay Grade $83,504.98 - $102,991.53 Description The School at Columbia has 3 divisions, Primary (K-2); Intermediate (3-5); Middle (6-8). Each division has an Educational Technologist. Responsibilities: * Create and teach curricular materials for K-8 students in class periods dedicated to Technology in Grades K-3. * Collaborate with teachers in designing and implementing units of study in accord with The School's educational perspective and curricular architecture * Provide support to The School's teachers and students in the creation, implementation, and use of the technology resources in classrooms * Assist in the effective integration of technology; generally supporting classroom technology, while increasing each teacher's ability to support classroom technology * Work with the Division Directors, Technology Director, and the other Educational Technologists to ensure that goals for the application of technology and general competencies are being met within a curricular framework * Commit to an individualized professional development plan; * Fulfill all duties, responsibilities, and commitments as outlined in the school's Guidebook and the organization's code of conduct * Keep careful anecdotal and assessment records to write accurate, comprehensive student reports that reflect student growth and support their future education Qualifications Qualifications/Requirements:
* B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited college or university * Knowledge of and experience within an educational setting in which integrated curriculum is designed and delivered * At least two years (or equivalent) of full-time experience developing curriculum focused on the purposeful use of technology * Knowledge of and experience with traditional instructional practices for curriculum design and development * Working knowledge of and experience with innovative pedagogy that makes use of digital technologies * Appreciates value of a strong team and applies team building skills * Excellent oral and written communications, listening, and interpersonal skills * Commitment to equity and justice, including knowledge and skills related to cultural competencies * Ability to provide second-tier support for academic computing systems Preferred Qualifications: * Advanced degree in a related field * Knowledge of Spanish * Prior experience with Computer Science, Design & Fabrication, STEM/STEAM curriculum |
