The BNSF Railway Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Department manages internal and external communications, handles media relations, and supports community interactions in which we serve and work. This team ensures clear, consistent messaging and fosters positive relationships with the public and stakeholders. Their efforts are crucial in maintaining BNSF's reputation and community engagement.

This is a full-timelocated in Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.

Travel is minimal, less than 10%

The Manager of Employee Engagement supports serves as an important member of the internal communication team, supporting vital internal and external communication and engagement programs through both creative and technical skills to keep employees connected and informed.

Key responsibilities may include:

Serve as Application Manager for myBNSF (Intranet)

Manage and support the myBNSF (Intranet) platform, including creating, posting and maintaining content; monitoring and addressing user feedback; working with platform provider to resolve technical issues; maintaining performance metrics; training and provisioning assigned content managers from other departments; and guiding platform updates to ensure a positive user experience.
Manage internal communication for salaried employees and people leaders, including Leader Resources website and related e-newsletters/announcements, executive bios, and other internal services to strengthen alignment and help people leaders be successful.
Manage internal communication for Fort Worth Headquarters, including internal Fort Worth Campus website and related e-newsletters/announcements.
Manage engagement programs, including the annual Photo Calendar contest, along with the subsequent production and distribution of the calendars.
Support internal and external communication programs, as assigned, with feature articles that support the Corporate Relations message house and promote the BNSF brand across all channels, including social media.
Coordinate internal survey programs.
Provide general support for employee engagement events.
Serve as backup/cross training for news clips.

Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business related discipline.
  • 5-8 years ofrelevantexperience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • Professional corporate experience in internal communication and employee engagementtactics and tools.
  • Skilled and creative storyteller with strong writing skills, and experience in both traditional and digital communication, including photography, videography and graphic design.
  • Technically savvy, and ability to quickly learn and support digital communication platforms and troubleshoot/address technical challenges.
