Location of the role - Position can be remote but will spend over 50% of the time traveling to meet with employees and markets. There will also be travel to our headquarter in Modesto, California as needed.

Are you passionate about spirits and ready to lead a dynamic team in promoting some of the best brands in the industry? GALLO is looking for an enthusiastic Spirits Advocacy Manager to spearhead our on-premise and retail spirits efforts. In this role, you will coordinate a team of Brand Ambassadors, enhancing visibility and loyalty among gatekeepers, bartenders, and consumers within your territory.

As our Spirits Advocacy Manager, you will mentor and equip your team to build brand loyalists through strategic trade outreach and engagement. You'll ensure your Brand Ambassadors have the specialized knowledge and resources needed to succeed, overseeing their productivity and effectiveness while guiding them on budgets, KPIs, and programming. Your leadership will be key in delivering compelling brand stories and consolidating competitive intelligence to share with senior leadership.

In this role, you will drive your team to meet the four advocacy pillars: Availability, Visibility, Advocacy, and Promotion. You'll train and educate wait staff, bartenders, and restaurant owners, fostering strategic partnerships that align with our brand consumer engagement platform. Acting as the single point of contact for all issues and opportunities related to the Brand Ambassadors, you will ensure seamless communication and alignment across the organization.

You will also play a crucial role in planning and executing business strategies based on market trends and feedback from the sales organization. Your collaboration with the Mixology and Beverage Development Manager will help generate buzz around our brands through creative product usage. Additionally, you will represent GALLO's portfolio at promotional and key customer/trade events, while supporting the career development of your direct reports and sharing best practices across the organization.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 7 years of Spirits, Luxury Brand sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Bartender/mixology, Supplier/Wholesaler, Ambassador or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of Gallo marketing spirits experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 11 years of Spirits, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Bartender/mixology, Supplier/Wholesaler, Ambassador or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Experience with developing and implementing a brand marketing programming and education.
  • Experience with owned social media and networks.
  • Experience with Event or Hospitality Management.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to travel up to 50% of the time; required to travel via airplane or automobile.
  • Required to lift and move product weighing up to 45 lbs.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 9 years of Spirits, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Bartender/mixology, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 13 years of Spirits, Luxury Brand Sales, Hospitality, Culinary, Bartender/mixology, Supplier/Wholesaler, Agency Ambassador or Tasting Room experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. Luxury Brand Experience, preferably focused on spirits.
  • Experience working with Distributors.
  • Experience putting together beverage programs or cocktail menus.
  • Strong knowledge of spirits industry.
  • Prior retail or on-premise spirits sales experience.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Skilled storyteller.
  • Strong problem solving and motivational skills.
  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience training and developing junior level brand marketers in executing brand and organizational objectives.
  • Experience managing business operations and leveraging basic finance and accounting principles.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $99,630 - $166,100 Annually plus 10% bonus potential
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
