We are looking for a few good people to join us as Material Handlers!

What will you do?

The Material Handler will be moving raw materials to the line, taking raw materials back to storage, and moving finished goods from the production area into trucks or designated storage area. The Material Handler will be cross-trained and may be reassigned to other duties and responsibilities as required by business needs. One responsibility of this position is to ensure accurate inventory transactions log entries.

All Material Handler positions are part of a 24-hour operation of 12- hour rotating shifts.You will work a total of 7 dayshifts and 7 nightshifts in a 28-day period.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use of a fork truck to move product within the plant or warehouse environment including:

Packaging, supplies and finished goods movement.

Move packaging and supplies to and from the production line.

Move finished good to trucks or designated storage area.

  • Putting daily production in racks by Scanning label and racks.

Requires some on and off fork truck to reach labels.

Uploading of scanner

  • Picking/Pulling Orders

Requires pulling from specific locations in racks.

Requires lifting and building of skids, some boxes 7.5 ft long (paver),

some boxes weigh 35-55 lbs.

Requires banding to skid, running a stretch machine, and hand wrapping

of skid.

Requires placing of labels on product, each individual box or skid, and lift

ing to build skid.

Requires some re-boxing of product for damage or kitting. Making boxes

and placing product in box. Lifting and placing on skid.

  • Other Duties

General housekeeping of warehouse areas.

Cycle-counting by walking down each row and verifying that everything is

accounted for and noting discrepancies.

Re-crating product from time to time. Lifting and putting product in a crate

for shipment.

Writing-up items that get returned to inventory.

Able to flex daily/weekly routine to adapt to increased responsibilities to

assist with specific shipping clerk and/or customer service duties during

peak seasons or as needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • College or technical school education is preferred but not required
  • Experience in a data driven position is required, it is preferred that the experience was gained in a production or warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with production and/or warehouse inventory systems is preferred.
  • Above average computer experience including Microsoft programs.
  • Fork truck experience is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIROMENT

  • Must be able to wear safety shoes and safety glasses for 8 hrs.
  • Must be able to work in dusty environments wearing appropriate dust masks and respirators for 8 hrs.
  • Must be able to work in loud environments wearing appropriate ear protection for 8 hrs.
  • Must be able to safely walk on occasionally, dusty, wet and/or slippery surfaces.
  • Flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 0 -110 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Must have the ability to routinely lift/carry and push/pull 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must have the ability to stand for 8 hours.
  • Must have the ability to reach above his or her shoulders
  • Must have the ability to routinely bend, squat, kneel, twist/turn
  • Must have the ability to routinely climb vertical fixed and mobile ladders.
  • Must have the ability to operate a tow motor safely and routinely.
