The Licensed Clinical Content Developer (CCD) develops and updates the clinical content of InterQual Clinical Products. Using medical literature review, synthesis of clinical information, and data analysis and in collaboration with external peer reviewers, their role is to ensure the clinical content represents best evidence practice standards and will meet requirements for different users, applications, and contexts. The Clinical Content Specialist is also responsible for quality assurance (QA) of the content and for responding to internal and external client questions and concerns

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Utilizing the principles of evidence-based medicine (EBM), design, develop, and update clinical content through the appraisal and synthesis of information gathered from the medical literature. Collect and incorporate feedback from external peer reviewers and clients to ensure clinical accuracy and usability
  • Perform Quality Assurance of clinical content and create and maintain clinical documentation, as required
  • Serve as a clinical resource for both internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with Product Development (PD), Product Management (PM), Product Owner (PO), and Business Systems Analyst (BSA) as needed
  • Participate in developing project plans, monitoring tasks, and ensuring on-time delivery of clinical development projects
  • Participate in field research that contributes to product advancement as needed

Required Qualifications:



  • Actively practicing licensed Healthcare RN, NP, or PA professional
  • 5+ years of experience in varied clinical practice setting such as Ambulatory Patient Care, Rehabilitation Care, Acute Care, Critical Care, and Pediatrics
  • Proven solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to step through logical pathways to determine results
  • Ability to be results-oriented, effective as both a team member and independent worker with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate in clinical field)
  • Proven knowledge of utilization/case management, prior authorization, and managed care industry
  • Case management experience
  • Research methods and Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) knowledge or experience
  • Project management experience, particularly for process improvement
  • Writing experience for publication
  • Proven knowledge of medical coding
  • Proven basic understanding of software development phases/life cycles

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
