Job Description

Director of National Accounts

Through your passion and motivation, you sell memorable experience to guests who stay in your property. You are professional and knowledgeable about your property, and you build strong relationships and create bond with your guests.

What you will be doing:

  • Solicit group business, and reach consistent achievement of sales objectives
  • Establish parameters, quotes and negotiate prices and seal contracts
  • Participate in tradeshows, conventions and promotional events
  • Maintain accounts, contact, activity and business details
  • Hostsite and pre-planning visits with customers
  • Develop monthly sales strategy and action plans with quarterly quotas (Room Nights/sales activities), and develop rapport with relevant Fairmont Global Sales Office(s), key partners in travel and tourism related industries/travel bureau
  • Maintain active membership in industry related organizations and associations pertaining to the specific market.
  • Mentor and provide best practices for the Group Sales team
  • Abilitytocontract and manage large programs (350+ on peak)
  • Seasoned at contract negotiation
  • Detail orientated and capable of putting together hotel agreements with specialized clauses
  • Efficient response time on leads and strong conversion track record
  • Account Manager for top performing hotel accounts with focus on developing accounts for repeat business opportunities
  • Seasoned customer advisor and the ability to build trust
  • Ability to work with seasoned hotel leaders and build trust
  • Upon closing, coordinate and follow up with convention services, catering and/or other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotel's promised services
  • Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess and implement strategy and long term goals
  • Assist as directed, in the planning and strategies of the Group Sales effort, with development of competitive intelligence and in the preparation of the Marketing plan, especially as it relates to the group segment
  • Handle special projects as assigned in a timely manner
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities as assigned
  • Creating memorable experiences for customers

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Relevant hotel sales experience is a must
  • Preferably a minimum of one year in large group hotel or two years in boutiquehotel.
  • Luxury hotel experience is a plus.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
