POSITION SUMMARY


The Calibration Technician performs and documents standard relief valve (RV) testing and pressure gauge calibrations and measurements in the laboratory for the high-pressure systems and components.

The Calibration Technician reports to the Manager of Testing, Calibration, Innovation & Facilities.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

* Performs pressure calibrations (pressure gauges, force gauges, torque wrenches, etc.) according to requirements and records associated data in databases.

* Perform setting and testing of pneumatic safety relief valves.

* Maintains stock levels of RV and pressure gauges to meet established production requirements and safety stock levels.

* Documents calibration certificates and maintains certification records.

* Performs sound level measurements IAW ISO standards.

* Performs vibration analysis of compressor units versus historical data.

* Maintains calibration and measurement records in various databases (MS Access, Excel, or Made2Manage).

* Follows the documented procedures in the Bauer Quality Management System.

* Supports the Quality and Calibration team with process improvement projects.

* Reviews problems with parts/equipment purchased for use in the units build by BCI.

* Contacts vendors to report deficiencies and arrange for the return of the failed item for rework or replacement using the vendor's RMA / Warranty system.

* Operate the facility tool crib performing calibration recall functions to maintain the highest degree of readiness for production of products.

* Maintain tool inventory as needed, adhering to budget constraints, to maintain the highest degree of readiness for production of products.

* Regular and reliable attendance.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Military Calibration/PMEL/TMDE training.

* High school or technical school diploma or equivalent.

* A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in a calibration lab.

* Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

* Able to handle multiple projects at one time.

* Able to accomplish assigned tasks in the time scheduled for completion.

* Strong math skills.

* Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

* Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

* Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize demands.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

* Ability to adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment
