Job Summary
AVT Simulation is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Production Manager to lead and oversee the manufacturing and assembly operations for our simulation and training products. This position is hands-on, requiring a strong technical and leadership background, ideally with greater than 15 years of experience in an active production or manufacturing environment. The Senior Production Manager will ensure production targets are met efficiently, manufactured parts are supplied as needed, and systems are delivered on time while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Production Leadership:
- Manage daily production operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Supervise and mentor production teams, including assembly technicians, machine operators, and quality control staff.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate manufacturing actions meeting production schedules.
- Monitor production and implement strategies to improve efficiency and downtime.
- Develop and maintain production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Train staff on fabrication, installation, machine operations, control, and quality inspections.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance with relevant regulations in all manufacturing processes.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to meet product specifications and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any product quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement production schedules based on project timelines and customer demands.
- Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all simulation components and systems meet company and industry quality standards.
- Oversee testing and inspection processes to verify product functionality and compliance.
- Resource Management:
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and components, coordinating with procurement teams as needed.
- Manage and optimize the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
- Develop staffing plans and ensure proper training for manufacturing employees to enhance skill levels and capabilities.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and readiness, coordinating repairs and upgrades when necessary.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Promote a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to workplace safety standards and protocols.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure the production team complies with all applicable guidelines.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and incidents.
- Process Improvement:
- Evaluate current production methods and recommend improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Introduce new technologies, tools, or processes to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Foster a culture of innovation and efficiency within the manufacturing team.
- Maintain industry production and manufacturing standards like ISO.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, project management, and sales teams to align production efforts with project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on production progress and address challenges.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components to support production schedules.
- Streamline supply chain processes to reduce lead times and optimize inventory levels.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: Over 15 years in a manufacturing and production environment with various leadership roles successfully performed in this environment. Experience in the modeling and simulation industry as related to manufacturing and production.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of production processes, quality assurance, industry standard methodologies, and technical drawings.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate manufacturing and production teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a cross-capability team that meets the simulator build environment.
- Problem-Solving: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management, lean manufacturing principles and decision-making abilities.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work in a fast moving manufacturing and production environment where he/she will stand and walk for long periods of time on the production floor. Employees are also required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk loudly and hear commands in an otherwise noisy environment. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

- Primacy badge printer and Assure ID7 software application.
- AxTraxNG client for access control badges.
- Program and operate control software for manufacturing and production tools and equipment.
- Basic computer operating system (Windows); Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint).
