Position Summary: The position of Divisional Website & Content Creator is an exceptional writer who crafts stories to promote The Salvation Army throughout Michigan and maximize and maintain divisional and corps websites, train employees and officers on how to utilize them, and create articles to support website blogs. The position serves as a resource in the areas of storytelling, written content creation, website administration, video creation, engagement trends, results tracking, digital fundraising and SEO optimization in support of all locations of The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division, driving measurable action on our website.

Essential Responsibilities:



  • Content Development: Write, edit, proofread, and publish content across all marketing channels while managing the divisional website.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in the creation and execution of a strategic plan for leveraging websites and internet technologies to support fundraising and brand-building initiatives.
  • Creative Collaboration: Provide strategic and creative input to enhance online communication efforts and campaigns.
  • Video Production: Edit and produce video content for the divisional website and social media platforms.
  • Workflow Management: Develop and maintain efficient workflows and editorial processes to ensure timely content delivery.
  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with the team to determine the most effective formats for various content initiatives.
  • Training & Support: Train internal stakeholders on local website management and assist in improving their digital presence.
  • Performance Analysis: Generate monthly web reports, including metrics on digital tracking, conversion activity, traffic volume, engagement trends, and search optimization. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on best practices.
  • Technical Implementation: Set up and manage tags and tracking technologies using platforms like Adobe Analytics, Facebook Pixels, and other tools.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with development department vendors related to web operations and provide updates to the direct supervisor on their performance and effectiveness.
  • Goal Alignment: Contribute to achieving annual fundraising and awareness goals by implementing strategies that meet established benchmarks for digital platforms.


Qualifications:

Education/Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, Digital Media or Communications, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • 2+ years of email marketing or digital fundraising experience
  • Non-profit experience is desired but not required
  • Photography and graphic design skills are a plus


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:



  • Website design, content creation, and non-profit fundraising skills
  • Video editing experience
  • Interpret complex content for general audiences
  • Ability to lay out web pages with the user/client audience in mind
  • Ability to maintain many simultaneous projects, set and deliver upon realistic timelines, work as a team and with autonomy
  • Ability to train and teach others basic content management system skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented


Computer Skills:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint
  • Ability to design, develop, update, and maintain organization website
  • Tags and tracking technologies through tag management platforms
  • Web design for optimal responsive device performance
  • HTML, CSS and Java Script
  • SEO, Adobe Analytics, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient in video editing software: such as: Adobe Premiers Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve
  • File Management: Organizing and managing large video files
  • Tracking and reporting engagement trends, conversion activity and optimization, providing analysis and best practice/industry standard recommendations


Certificates and Licenses:



  • Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed.
  • Must have and maintain a current valid driver's license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR).
