S&ME is seeking an experienced manager seeking a challenging opportunity with a firm committed to our employees and providing excellence to join our Construction Services team within our Transportation Market in Duluth, Georgia as a Services Manager. Join us at S&ME!

What You Will Do:

The Services Manager leads operations and team development to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. This role oversees a team of RTT field technicians, scheduling, and project management for field, laboratory, and office activities. The ideal candidate will excel in leadership, client relations, and operational efficiency while fostering a safe, collaborative, and growth-oriented work environment. Managing a location with over $1.5M in annual revenue and 15 or more employees, this position focuses on achieving utilization, quality, and financial goals in partnership with the Office Principal.



  • Team Leadership and Oversight: Provide direct supervision to Field and Laboratory Supervisors, technicians, professionals, and administrative staff. Mentor employees and conduct performance reviews to foster growth and accountability.
  • Scheduling and Resource Management: Ensure staff are appropriately scheduled to meet project demands, balancing workloads effectively to achieve utilization goals.
  • Training and Certification: Oversee training programs to maintain necessary certifications and technical skills. Support staff in achieving project-specific requirements.
  • Client and Project Management: Supervise proposal preparation, ensure accurate scoping of services, and actively participate in business development to build client relationships and meet sales goals.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage equipment, fleet, and supplies to support projects efficiently. Monitor calibration and quality systems to maintain high standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Promote a safe work environment by modeling safety best practices, leading safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.



What You Bring:



  • A High School diploma or GED
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering or a Construction related field, a plus OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Operational and/or Project Management, experience within the A/E/C industry



Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as:



  • Working outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs, (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
