SUMMARY

The Data Analyst Sr. - Nursing is accountable for assisting leadership with performance monitoring and improvement across multiple departments and services. This position utilizes project management and data analytical skills to assist with planning, executing and finalizing projects within established deadlines.

Work with internal departments to enhance the use of data to improve management of our core businesses.

I. Project Coordination / Process Improvement (25%):



  • Continuously assists data analyst with departmental implementation of process changes and improvements.


II. Data Management and Analytics (20%):



  • Develop and manage comprehensive analyses for internal and external audiences that support the plan to achieve nursing related goals.
  • Identify and communicate impact of analytical findings and leverage business intelligence tools to develop, analyze and defend analytic results.
  • Provide point of coordination for nursing leaders to integrate and leverage analytics outcomes.


III. Leadership / Training (25%):



  • Provides training, testing and auditing as well as work on special projects pertaining to data integrity improvement initiatives. Provides day-to-day directions of work for data analysts.
  • Provide leadership and mentor team with use of business knowledge and analytics expertise. Sets priorities for the team and ensures tasks completion.
  • Participates in employee counseling, hiring, termination and performance evaluations.


IV. Administrative Support (10%):



  • Oversee various operational/administrative tasks that support Nursing Business Operations, including but not limited to position management, workforce optimization, capital and operating budgets, contract labor management, and cost center performance reporting.
  • Oversee maintenance of departmental employee files and new employee needs in collaboration with Unit Educators, Clinical Managers and Directors, including but not limited to; preparing employee departmental and educational files, ensuring required certifications (BLS, ACLS, etc) are up-to-date, and coordinating 30/90 day new employee meetings.
  • Ensures continuous readiness for regulatory visits and participates in the process as indicated.


V. Finance Budget



  • Assists in performing ongoing financial analysis and monitors metrics to understand changes to the business. Collaborates with the Executive Director to develop annual capital and operating budgets for nursing.
  • Assists the Executive Director with providing ad hoc financial analysis to facilitate operational decision making.


Education

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience

Required:



  • With Bachelor's Degree: Four (4) or more years job related experience including data management, finance, or project management.
  • With two (2) years college or Associate's Degree: six (6) or more years job related experience including data management, finance, or project management.
