Wieland is hiring a Production Planner. The Production Planner will create and schedule production orders for the Tube Mill to achieve and maintain excellent On-Time Performance, maximizing yield and minimizing scrap. Communicate updates to sales, production and purchasing. This role is located in Wheeling, IL and will be fully on-site.



Responsibilities

Production Planner Responsibilities:

    Develop and maintain internal bill of materials and routings to ensure customer specifications.
  • Gross plan new customer orders based on internal capacity and supplier capacity.
  • Submit Purchase Requisitions comparing demand vs. inventory vs. finished goods.
  • Fine plan customer orders to ensure on-time delivery (maintain yield & minimize scrap)
  • Assess production capacity and adjust schedules to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work with the procurement team to ensure that the required raw materials, components, and supplies are available on time.
  • Collaborate with production team to address any issues or delays in the production process.
  • Monitor and record whether the production schedule is being followed, noting any deviations, delays, or changes to production timelines.
  • Identify and verify discrepancies while maintaining accuracy in inventory.

Production Planner Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Business or related field (or bachelor's degree in supply chain or industrial engineering)
  • Strong understanding of production planning and/or Master Scheduling experience
  • Proficiency in Machine Capacity Analysis and S&OP Process
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS power BI) and SAP software
  • APICS CPIM Certification will be a plus.
