Senior Systems Engineer
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer to support Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) in Dahlgren, VA.
Job Description:
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality.
- Performs high level engineering support on Navy surface ship combat systems requiring comprehensive knowledge and training on specialty systems.
- Considered technically competent on specialty systems. Recommends changes in technical application.
- Develops and applies advanced methods in the investigation and finds solutions of difficult military system design requirements and problems.
- Plans, conducts, and directs projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks.
- Evaluates system capabilities. Reviews completion of work including system enhancements.
- Position requires comprehensive knowledge to resolve complex problems and provide solutions.
- Full knowledge of industry practices. Ability to lead and train others.
- Ability to communicate technical information in an understanding manner.
Qualifications:
- Must have 8 years' experience in the design operation and/or maintenance of complex U.S. Navy Surface Combat Systems.
- Must have experience in the analysis of recommended changes and in determining the impact on system readiness and user functionality.
- Must have experience in reading design documents, evaluating high level interface block diagrams, evaluating commercial equipment,part task trainer emulations.

Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- 25% travel required.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year
